Malawi...

There is no country in all of Africa that has its geography so sculptured and determined by Africa's Great Rift Valley, the 3,000 kilometer long geological formation that bisects much of Africa from Egypt to Botswana. Towering mountains, lush, fertile valley floors and enormous crystal clear lakes are the hall mark of much of he Rift Valley. This is what Malawi is all about.

Malawi's scenery is diverse and the habitats are varied. Between the altitude extremes there are rolling hills, plateaus, cool misty mountains and much varied scenery. Malawi is a wonderful, warm  friendly country that offers visitors great scenery, interesting parks and some of the friendliest villagers in all of Africa.

Here we offer the ability to visit Mvuu Wilderness Lodge for 3 nights, then on to Chintheche Inn on Lake Malawi for another
3 nights.

Mvuu Wilderness Lodge is situated on a lagoon close to the Shire River in the north of the Liwonde National Park.  The five tented rooms offer en suite facilities. The main dining room area is raised under thatch overlooking the Shire River where elephant, hippos and crocodiles are often to be viewed.  Wildlife such as elephant and Sable Antelope occur in large numbers as do impala and waterbuck.  Leopard, Serval and the rare Oribi may occasionally be seen.  The birdlife is outstanding. It is also possible to do a bicycle trip from the boundary of Liwonde to the local villages outside the park.

Chintheche Inn has 10 double rooms which open out onto the beach and are all furnished with local crafts. All rooms are en suite with fans. In addition to the beach activities guests can enjoy visits to local villages, hire a bike for the mountain biking  trails or take a trip to the rubber plantation and the lively market town of Nkhata Bay.
